One of the earliest golf courses in Mississippi, even the entire southern US, has quite the interesting origin story. Beginning with a Manhattan murder in 1799 that led to builder Levi Weeks being ran out of New York, the property surrounding the national landmark, antebellum mansion, Auburn, is today a public golf course teeming with history, told and untold. This documentary takes an in-depth look at first-hand historical material to piece together the full scope of the 108-year-old golf course's story.

Starting in 1799 Manhattan, join us as we explore the more than 220 years of history that has led to one of the most inclusive, historic, and charming courses in the entire United States.

Phase One:
Select 6-10 Mississippi-based bands/musicians to each record their own rendition of iconic songs with historical ties to the state of Mississippi.
For example, ”Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley, “The Thrill is Gone” by B.B. King, “Who Do You Love” by Bo Diddley)
Phase Two:
Film an 8-10 minute episode of each band’s song making process in the studio. Each video will provide the bands’ backstories and explain the song’s Mississippi roots. This will serve as promotional material and added bonus content for the album
Phase Three:
Film a full-length, roughly 90-minute documentary exploring the untold history of Mississippi‘s influence over the evolution of American music, while also exploring the culture of music in Mississippi today. Featured filming locations include Natchez, Clarksdale, Indianola, Tunica, Tupelo, Oxford,
and many more.
